AN Monday theme Water Spotting with pictorial tutorial

AN Monday's theme is water spotting, and this was my first time trying. I did remember to take photos for you :). I started with a base of Zoya Robyn, 2 coats no top coat. I let that dry and then used small pieces of sponge with tweezers to sponge on piCture pOlish Sky and Jade.

Once they were dry I started on the water spotting. I used a lip balm around my nail on my fingers to make sure the polish not on the nail would come off easily. I used a paper cup with room temperature water and placed 2 drops of black polish in the cup.

It should spread out and look like the photo below.

I then got my perfume and sprayed it onto the polish, this makes the polish separate in places giving it the spotted look.

I then carefully dipped my nail in, then grabbed a cuticle stick to remove the surrounding polish. I carefully took my finger out.

and this is the end result.

Now you just clean up and you're done. I repeated the process with gold to end up with my final result. It was really quite easy and I love the end look.

  2. This is a fantastic mani! I cannot tell you how much I love it. I would like to try to dupe this look and have a question or two. :) You say you repeat the water process with gold. Which gold polish did you use, is it a foil/metallic one? And I was just wondering, the black polish bottle looks like the WnW Black Creme - is that the one you use? When you were doing the water dipping, did you have to wait until your nail with the black on it was dry before starting the spotting process with the gold? Thank you for the beautiful photos of this mani. It is so gorgeous!

    1. Thanks for the questions, I need to go back and add these in the post. I used China Glaze Passion for the gold and yes it is WnW black creme.I did wait until my nail was touch dry, I'm not sure if you don't need to wait I just did to be sure I didn't muck it up.
