Purple and Pink tape design

I saw a look similar to this from +ohmygoshpolish and wanted to give it a try. I chose Rimmel Midnight Rendezvous as the purple and Rimmel Don't Be Shy as the pink. This design was made with right angel nail vinyls. The silver a England Merlin, my favourite silver glitter.I really like how it came out so I'll have to do nails next time :).

Take care, Tx.

Zoya Isla - Taped Stamped mani

Good morning, we've finally passed hump day and I can't wait for the weekend. Today's design is a new technique for me and I really like it. I started with a white base on all may nails. I then used Konad black and Moyou Pro plate 20 to do the swirly design. I top coated and waited for it all to dry.I then used a curvy decal and placed them on all the nails, then it was just simply painting Zoya Isla on all my nails and carefully removing the decal. I think the black and white design adds an interesting pop to the design.

Have a great day, Tx

Zoya Brooklyn, Hudson and Dillon taped design

I love the whole Awaken collection but these three are my favourites. I used Brooklyn a beautiful soft gold as my base colour and placed a striping tape X on all my nails when the polish have dried. I then painted the bottom and side parts of the X alternatively, removed the tape and voila a smart and fun nail design. I top coated and I was done. Hudson is a lovely mid pastel purple and Dillon a really pretty mid pastel green. I love these colours together.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and don't forget to enter the giveaways by clicking

AN Monday theme - Tape Mani - a England holos

For this week's theme of a tape mani I decided to do a mosaic with some of the gorgeous a England holo colours. On my index and pinkie is Lady of the Lake. On my middle and ring fingers I used Encore Margot as a base. I waited until it dried fully before using tape to section parts of the nail. I didn't have a plan, I just placed them randomly. I then filled them in with Lady of the Lake, Tristam, Princess Tears, Sleeping Palace and Dancing with Nureyev. As soon as I'd painted the last gap I used tweezers to carefully remove the tape and topcoated the design. They are all so gorgeous on their own and together they look so pretty.

Hope you're enjoying the Easter break, Tx.

piCture pOlish - Whimsy review

This week I have the stunning Whimsy by piCture pOlish to review for you. I've loved all the polishes I've reviewed so far but this may be my favourite. It is a gorgeous bright aqua blue, packed full of golden shimmer. It practically glows on the nail and I can't stop looking at it. I am wearing three thin coats and it applied like a dream with quick drying time. I had to do an accent finger so I use striping tape to tape off sections and used complementary blues and a gold. I love the final look almost as much as I love this polish. I can see I will be wearing it a lot and I love that it's unique in my collection.

piCture pOlish have provided this polish to me for review, to grab some for yourself go to piCture pOlish On-line Store.

Zoya Yana, Rocky and Josie colour block nails

I really love Zoya's Stunning collection and I've had fun using it in nail art this week. There's something about it being freezing cold outside and adding bright colours to my nails. Maybe I'm trying to trick myself into thinking it's warmer. For this mani I used Yana a hot ink, Rocky, a gorgeous blue and Josie a great mid green. You just paint your nails in one colour, top coat and allow to dry. Then have fun with the sticky/scotch tape in marking off different areas and adding in the colours. Easy but you do have to make sure your base is dry and that the tape has adhered well with no bubbles or small lifts for polish to creep in. Finish it all with a good amount of top coat, loading your brush with top coat really helps to prevent colours bleeding.

Yay it's Thursday and I can see the weekend from here :), Tx

Ascalon is a gorgeous light grey holo by A England. I wanted to fancy it up a little so I did an alternate accent finger and scotch tape to mark off sections to paint in the contrasting colours. It kind of came out as I had it in my head, but not as exact as I wanted it too. It's still been an awesome look for a rare sunny winter's day and I love the depth of the holo in A England. It radiates rainbows whenever it hits the sun. For the black I used Orly Liquid Vinyl.

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! Tx

Aussie Nails Monday - Stripes

Good morning, yay it's a public holiday here today! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's Monday again and boy they seem to be rolling around quickly this year!

Please excuse the lack of photos, I don't feel great and I can't find my lightbox :(. It's kind of a good thing as it means hubby helped me clean up yesterday before we had guests! However as he's still snoozing I have no idea where he put it lol.

I think the one photo that did come out ok fills the brief for a stripe mani :)

Colours used

Index - butter London Molly coddled and Essie Playdate
Middle - butter London Fruit Machine and Essie Off the Shoulder
Ring - butter London Fiver and Essie Turquoise and Caicos
Pinkie - Essie Borrowed and Blue and Essie Azure
Thumb - butter London Kerfuffle and butter London Trout Pout

Please check out the fabulous designs the other Aussie's have come up with :)

Laid back Challenge 10 - geometric

I love quite a few polishes from OPI's Euro collection. Here I am using my favourite three, My Vampire is Buff - cream, You're Such a Budapest - lilac and Can't Find my Czechbook - blue. This design is based on one by pshiit, but mine looks nowhere as good as hers. I love the colours but I'm not too sure about the design. It's geometric and it might grow on me :)

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Essie - Mojito Madness - green
Essie - Azure - blue

Butter London - Kerfuffle

From the butter London Sweetie Shop Collection is this gorgeous muted peach Kerfuffle. It's so pretty and the perfect pastel peach. It applied beautifully, I used 3 coats but could have gotten away with 2.

I should add that all my photos are taken with natural light, There are a few rare exceptions like the photos below. The main reason is that I feel natural light gives you the best indication of what the colour is, you can see below how it changes. Sometimes though there aren't enough hours in the day and I have to do artificial light photos.

This is Kerfuffle with Essie Haute as Hello. They look gorgeous together and it's been a nice palette cleanser after the Valentine nails.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, it's glorious weather here and I think I might go and hop in the spa :). Knowing Tasmania it will probably be freezing tomorrow.

Wavy Nails

An escape from Valentine's nails, though I think they may be my favourite to do.

Base colour - a England Iselut
Holo - Color Club - Cloud Nine
Tips - a England Guinevere

It was a middle of the night manicure and I was trying out craft scissors on tape to see what designs would work. It's not a complete win but I like it enough to keep it on awhile. The a Englands were gorgeous to work with, great application!

Zoya Blu, Neely Jacqueline geometric

I am in love with this Zoya Lovely Collection, the colours are so soft and dreamy. For this mani I used all the creams and they were a dream to work with. If you've never bought Zoya this could be a great start up collection for you to try.

So the three creams
Jacqueline is a gorgeous yellowy cream or deep ivory. It is more in the ivory family and as someone that does not like yellow on me I adore this shade. It does seem similar to Lime Crime Milky way so I will do a comparison soon.

Neely is a beautiful soft pastel green leaning towards a greyer green than the obvious mint pastels. This is unique in my stash, I have many blue/green soft pastels but not in this tone.

Blu I've already talked about but it is gorgeous and a dream to work with.

This mani is easy to do, you paint your base colour and top coat it, give it a good amount of time to dry. Then you just tape off sections, I just use scotch tape. You need to first put the tape on your skin to lose some of the stickiness and then apply. If you don't leave your base colour long enough to dry you will run into problems where the tape pulls it off. I love geometric patterns and I didn't start out with any great plans just applied tape where I wanted to.

Enjoy and look out for a small giveaway!

Have a happy Wednesday :)
