Bright and Quirky nail design - dots and Zig Zag

I want to call these circus nails as they are quirky and fun but really it's just me playing around with colours. If you're a windows user you may recognise this palette as Iris available in Word and Publisher. The orange is OPI Toucan DO It If You Try, the green is butter London Jaded Jack, the blue is Essie Butler Please! and the off white is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I like the bright colours together and I'm really enjoying using different colour palettes on my nails :)

Have a fabulous relaxing Sunday, Tx.

Hibiscus Nail Design with Essie Navigate Her and Essie Play Date

Good morning, I came across these two colours in my drawers and knew I wanted to do a design with them together. I started out with plans to do a tape mani but once the white was dry I decided to try a hibiscus again. I did do one over a year ago and wasn't sure if it would work ok so this time there is no tutorial but I will do a pictorial tutorial soon. I used Essie Play Date for the bright lilac and Essie Navigate Her for the green. I free handed the hibiscus and used the usual decals for the chevron. I love the colours together, it may be autumn here but it's still fun to wear bright colours.

Have a fabulous day, Tx.

Essie - Hide & Go Chic - daisies

Just a quick post today with my attempt at painted daisies. The gorgeous blue base colour is Essie Hide and Go Chic, it's absolutely gorgeous and application was a breeze. I am wearing just 2 thin coats. I used a large dotting tool for the lemon flower centres and painted on white polish for the petals. I like  how it turned out but I definitely need more practice painting :)

Have a fabulous day, Tx

Essie Naughty Nautical - daisy and dot nail design

Yay another green/teal mani. I do just love green in all shades, I wasn't a little girl who liked pink or purple, I've always been a green girl. When I was 5 my parents let all of us pick out the paint colour for our bedrooms. I chose a super bright kelly green, which I loved. Mum shakes her head today, as to why she let me have such a colour, me I'm just pleased she did :).

So today I'm featuring the gorgeous teal Essie Naughty Nautical, it has a pretty shimmer throughout and it's high on the list as one of my favourite green polishes. I added the daisy nail design by using a stick on template, I love to use these as I can't really draw or paint to save my life. The silver is super close to my all time favourite a England Merlin, this one is by Sea Siren Cosmetics and called Reflections.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, Tx

X Nail Glitter Design

Today's look has an X nail design - at least I think it's called an X nail, we'll call it that as it does look like an X ;). I stupidly forgot to take a photo when I had taped it up but I will try to remember next time so I can give you a tutorial on how to achieve the look. I love it and think it adds a wow factor. The gorgeous green is a custom creme by Celestial Cosmetics, isn't it just beautiful? The glitter is Essie Beyond Cozy and if you only buy one micro glitter this should be the one, it has both gold and silver specks which allows you to use it in any number of looks. It applies beautiful and isn't too gritty when dry.

It's Friday, it's Friday, I'm looking forward to the weekend :D Tx.

Dotticure Valentine's Day Nail Design

Another super easy and fun Valentine's mani. This one is Essie Brazilliant for the gorgeous shimmery pink, OPI Mod About You, OPI Sparrow Me The Drama and Brazilliant for the dots. The hearts were made using a sticking decal, you paint over the decal, carefully remove the sticker and top coat the design.

Yay for Friday, hope your week has gone well, Tx.

Dotted Flowers - Rose Gold and Green nails

I'm always in love with Zoya and green so this polish is no exception :). This is Alexa and it's such a pretty shade, unlike any other greens I own and I own quite a few lol. It was a delight to apply and I chose to pair it with the pretty Rose Gold Penny Talk from the Essie Chrome range. I then did simple flowers based on a design on IG by falguni_nails. I do adore that green and really like the end result. I wish my pinkie nail would grow! I have some wonderful polishes to swatch for you soon.

Hope you're avoiding the heat wave if you're in Australia, I'm over it already!! Tx

Christmas Tree nail art

Today I have a fun Christmas look using a non traditional Christmas colour. The base colour is Essie She's Picture Perfect and the adorable glitter is Nubar Hyacinth Sparkle. I made the Christmas tree using a design by Nailside, with just a little difference in lines. It's a really simple tutorial to follow and the results are amazing. I just love the Christmas tree.

Yay the weekend's here, though it does mean Christmas is creeping closer. Have a great weekend, Tx

Spring Zigzag

I thought it would be fun to do a bright mani with black zigzags. I do like the final look but it was fiddly and the black kept running, so I had to re-do them. For my index I used Essie - Haute as Hello, middle finger is Essie - Bikini so Teeny, ring is Essie - First Timer and pinkie is Essie - Playdate. All are gorgeous fun spring colours that really pop on the nail. The formula was great on all but Haute as Hello, it was streaky and a pain to deal with. I do love zigzags/chevrons but I'm thinking the best way to do black is with the decals or Zoya Storm seems to work with less bleeding.

We've had a couple of gorgeous spring days which I just adore and I'm very ready for winter to be over. Have a fabulous Thursday, Tx

Body Image Awareness

This week is Body Image Awareness week. Eating disorders and poor body image present a huge problem for both males and females across Australia and it is an issue that is often kept a closely guarded secret by sufferers. Body Image Awareness Week in September aims to raise awareness of these health threatening conditions and take the opportunity to celebrate our bodies - unique, diverse, strong and beautiful! Taken from here. A few of us Australian nail artists are posting manis this week to show our support and raise awareness. Personally body image confidence has finally found me in my early 40's, it's a gift I wish I could give to so many young girls. Just remember whatever size you are there is only one gorgeous unique you and you are beautiful!!

I used Essie Using My Maiden Name and Turquoise and Caicos for this look.

Be yourself and love it!! Tx

Aussie Nails Monday Spring

I'm a day behind but I still wanted to do a spring mani. I followed a tutorial by Nailed it that you can find here. This month my blog turns one and I've decided to do a few then and now manis. This look I used in October 2012, a couple of months after I started my nail addiction and it's interesting to see the difference. This time I used Essie Bobbin for Baubles as a background and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Essie The More the Merrier and OPI No Room for the Blues for the flowers. I really like it and think it's a fun spring look. I also popped a matte top coat on and I just love it matte as well.

Hope this week is going well for you, Tx

Essie The More the Merrier and Bobbing for Baubles

I'm back :). A huge thank you to the ladies that helped fill in for me. I hoped you enjoyed their posts. I am still working with my Cinderella, which limits the amount of nail art I can achieve. My swatch nails are growing so hopefully soon I can change back.

For this look I wore one of my favourite Essie's Bobbing for Baubles, it's such a gorgeous deep dusky blue. I teamed it with the new Essie The More the Merrier and I love how the colours work together.

It's already Friday and even more mind blowing it's half way through August!! Where has this year gone?!? Hope you've all had a fantastic week, T

Baby blue zig zag

Today I've done a skittlette of the gorgeous Zoya Blu, a zig zag and Essie Beyond Cosy. This zigzag is done with the decals. I love the overall look of this one, something so soothing and pretty about Zoya Blue.Yes it's another mani with Essie Beyond Cosy, it was all that was holding my nail together for awhile. Unfortunately it's broken now, so I have super nubs. Luckily for me they grow quickly but I'm already missing painting my nails. Oh well, very much a first world problem.

If you haven't yet please vote for my piCture pOlish blog fest design, the link is here and you just need to leave my blog name It's All About the Polish in the comments section. There is even a chance at winning some polish for yourself just for voting.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments here and on Instagram

Have a fabulous Wednesday, Tx.

piCture pOlish - Honeydew - skittlette

You know I love mint green and I really love this mint green creme polish from piCture pOlish. I have so many mint green polishes but as I tell Hubby they're similar but different :). I really wanted to do a skittlette with a pastel colour, black roses and dots since I saw this one by glamsusie on Instagram. She was clever enough to hand paint her roses but I stamped mine. I also really wanted to add a matte top coat but my middle finger nail has suffered a break and all that is holding it together is the teabag and glue method and a good coverage of glitter polish. I just didn't think a shiny glitter and matte pastel would go together so I will redo this look when my break grows out. It also means at any time now I'm going to be reduced to super nubs, the break is below the free tip so will take awhile to grow out :(. Anyway I'll try to embrace the nubs and stamp those designs that are usually too small for my nails.

I do still love this look, the stamping plate was a Bundle Monster one but I can't remember the number and the glitter is again the gorgeous Essie - Beyond Cosy - one of my go to glitters.

Well it's finally Saturday - enjoy your weekend, Tx.

Neon Love

I've finally added neons to my stash and I'm in love! This is China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy and it's amazing. Unfortunately it's under artificial light so hasn't photographed to show it's super brightness. I love it as a skittlette, not sure if my eyes could take a full mani but it's super nice to have a bright pop of colour in the middle of winter. I'm looking forward to adding more neons to my collection :).

The glitter is Essie - Beyond Cosy

Yay for Fridays!, Tx
