Aussie Nails Monday - theme Spring

I love little daisies and I love how daisies look in nail art, so I had to do them for today's theme. I used piCture pOlish Chillax for the base colour, OPI Solitaire on my middle finger, OPI Alpine Snow for the daisies and Lime Crime Crema Di Limon for the daisies centre. I love it and think it looks a subtle floral look.

Stay safe, Tx

Santa in a Chimney nail art

This look was inspired by a design done by Kayla Shevonne, I just added my own twist to it. Instead of snow I wanted to add the night sky behind our poor stuck Santa. I used a base colour of piCture pOlish Cosmos, this is a gorgeous polish, similar to Zoya Dream but more navy in colour. I then painted the moon and sponged a teeny bit of Zoya Serephina on the moon to give depth. Santa was just a matter of painting the last third in a light colour, I chose Elf Innocence and also doing the basic shape of Santa in the same light colour so that the red would pop against the blue. The bricks are freehanded and the snow is done with a dotting tool. Yay it's getting closer to Christmas - I just love this season!!

Take care,Tx

piCture pOlish - Marine dotticure

I've done a dotticure today featuring the amazing Aussie brand piCture pOlish and one of their gorgeous cremes Marine. It is the perfect teal colour and the formula is fantastic and allows easy application. I decided to do my ring finger in white with black, silver and marine dots and a England Merlin silver glitter on my pinkie. It's a fun look that is incredibly easy to achieve.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend, Tx

piCture pOlish - Sea Jewel review

Today's piCture pOlish polish is Sea Jewel and this is my absolute favourite polish I've reviewed so far. An exquisite sea green glitter, Sea Jewel makes you look at your nails all day. Glitters like this one aren't as readily available as some of the other finishes and as I adore micro glitters this is a fantastic addition to my stash. I had problems capturing the beauty of the glitter and the above photo is the most accurate to the shiny sea green beauty that is Sea Jewel. I didn't use a base colour and am wearing 2 coats of Sea Jewel. It applied like a dream and smoothed over just beautifully with top coat. I'd love to see more of these glitters available as they add a spectacular wow factor to your nails. Me being me meant I had to add a little nail art. I didn't want to over power the beauty of Sea Jewel so added a black accent nail with white and Sea Jewel dots. I love the finished look and just know I will be getting a lot of wear from Sea Jewel over summer.

Review - Ozotic Sugar 901

The sugar collection is a selection of polishes in the Ozotic range that are toppers. They add that little extra to a plain nail polish. Today I am sharing Ozotic 901 with you and four different ways to use it. Firstly above I have used two coats of 901 over OPI Mod About YOU, It's gives a fabulous finish with depth that feels feminine and soft. Even though it is technically a topper I wanted to try it as a chevron/zigzag. Usually in nail art chevron/zigzags are in stand out colours but I love just how subtle the use of a topper makes the chevron/zigzag look. It just looks gorgeous and very girly while still showcasing the super trendy chevron/zigzag look.

For the first photo below I used 901 on it's own. This is 3 coats and it's a pretty look but for me it's just too close to my skin tone to really stand out.

For another look below I used two coats of 901, firstly over white which adds a lovely pink shimmer. I then painted the ring and pinkie black and added two coats of 901. It totally changes the look and adds a real wow factor.

Personally I love the look below with the subtle chevron the best. It is awesome to have one bottle of polish capable of changing so many looks.

piCture pOlish - Electric Dream review

A little break from the pink and blue as Monday is piCture Polish review day. Today I have the gorgeous Electric Dream to share with you. I may be showing my age but I haven't been able to stop singing, "we'll always be together, however far it seems, we'll always be together, together in electric dreams" in my head since I applied this beauty. It was a song from the movie Short Circuit and I loved it when I was little.

Ok onto the polish! This beauty is a real cross between, coral, pink, red and neon pink! It's a colour shifter and depending on what light you have it in will determine what colour it shows as. Most often for me it was coral in the inside light. The photo below is a great example of how in the sun it looks like a neon pink. The polish is packed full of gold shimmer and even has holo particles. It was a dream to apply, dried super quickly with a matte finish. I have used top coat in all my photos. The colour has a good opaqueness and could be done in 2 coats but as you know I like to do 3 ;). I had to do a little art, so chose to use black white and silver to compliment Electric Dream and make the colour pop. I sectioned off diamond shapes with striping tape and applied polish with a nail art brush. I carefully removed tape and used top coat to finish it off. I added 3 little dome black studs on my ring finger to complete the look. This polish is a stunner and another unique polish to my collection. I can see it getting a lot of wear through summer.

Have a fabulous week! Tx

piCture pOlish - Whimsy review

This week I have the stunning Whimsy by piCture pOlish to review for you. I've loved all the polishes I've reviewed so far but this may be my favourite. It is a gorgeous bright aqua blue, packed full of golden shimmer. It practically glows on the nail and I can't stop looking at it. I am wearing three thin coats and it applied like a dream with quick drying time. I had to do an accent finger so I use striping tape to tape off sections and used complementary blues and a gold. I love the final look almost as much as I love this polish. I can see I will be wearing it a lot and I love that it's unique in my collection.

Hibiscus mani

This look was based on a design by http://lusterlacquer.blogspot.com.au/. I wanted to try to paint Hibiscus, they are far from perfect but I'm pleased how they turned out. I use Zoya Dove on my Index and pinkie nails and piCture pOlish Peaches n'cream for the zigzag/chevron and Hibiscus petals. The darker orange is butter London Trout Pout. I free handed the flowers and used decals as guides for painting the chevron.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Tx

piCture pOlish Mallard review

This post is graphic heavy so that I can show you all the wonderful sides of Mallard.

I was really pleased that piCture pOlish sent me Mallard to review. It's a polish I've not been sure if I should buy or not. It's green and I love green but I was unsure of the colour base as it leans to a brownish green. I'm delighted I now have it as this polish is just so stunning in person. It has gorgeous flakies that makes it unique and special. Mallard has a green to gold shimmer finish. The flakies are so gorgeous when caught in the light you can see the bright green and copper flakies shining on your fingertips. The green has more blue undertones than I thought it did and is a pretty emerald green. It was super easy to apply, had great drying time and the flakies came out easily. I've used 3 coats here, mainly because I like to use 3 coats. Mallard, is a beautiful polish with extra pop coming from the flakies. Flakies and green, two of my favourite things and I now wonder why I didn't pick it up earlier.

I couldn't leave it as a plain swatch, even though Mallard is gorgeous on it's own. I decided to pick up the bronze and bright green in a colour block mani. I used EmilydeMolly High Distinction as base, the bright green is Cult Nails Deal with it and the bronze is Goddess by piCture pOlish. My inspiration for this look comes from Liloo. I taped off areas of the nail using striping tape and filled them in with polish using a nail art brush. I'm really happy with the final look and think the colours all work together, highlighting the awesomeness of Mallard.

If you love flakies or love green you really need this polish!!

Now for more photos - all taken outside.

piCture pOlish - Mad Magenta

I love a fun bright color and Mad Magenta is a crazy beautiful colour. Now I'm not a pink girl but I do really like this shade. I love that it has blue undertones and its brightness makes it fun to wear. Mad Magenta dries with a rubbery finish that I just love! First photo below shows the finish, it's fun and something a little different. It also puts it into the class of polish that I can grab for a quick colour change and be happy with it on it's own.

It is also beautiful with top coat and below I've used HK girl top coat. It turns super glossy and just as pretty as the rubber finish.

I used two coats of Mad Magenta and the formula was fantastic, smooth and applied easily. Now I had to add some art to my nails and I adore how it turned out.

It's the perfect polish for some fun leopard print and gold compliments the pink perfectly. I used China Glaze Passion for the gold dot shapes and China Glaze I'm not Lion for the gold glitter on my ring finger. A perfect polish for Spring and to encourage the warm weather along.
