Turqoise and Purple skittle

Today I am again wearing polishes I made. I knew from the start of making polishes that I wanted to create a polish for Wave of Polish so came up with a brand name and logo.  I am absolutely loving polish making and find it gives me the same creative buzz as nail art does.

Onto today's look, there is nothing better than being able to add a matching glitter to a skittle, I just love wearing skittles that way. I love the colours of both of these cremes and wanted to wear them together. The flowers are easily made with a dotting tool. This is a look that's easy, anyone can try it and end up with a pretty end result.

Have a fabulous weekend, Tx

Winter Skittle Nail Art

It's been cold around here so I had to do a snowflake. We live by the ocean so we don't get snow, but it's cold enough for me to be over it. I chose to do a skittle as when I started out they were my favourite form of nail art. I still love them but haven't done one in awhile. The base blue/green colour is OPI Ski Teal we Drop, it's funny how it looks very teal when held with the bottle but completely different when held with the Zoya bottle below. I guess that's why polishes you buy online don't always look quite like you imagine. My accent nail is done with OPI Solataire and the silver in the stripes and dots is Zoya Trixie. I hand painted the snowflakes on with acrylic paint.

I hope wherever you are the weather is being nice to you today, Tx

AIPAS theme skittle

For this week's theme at AIPAS I got to do a skittle, a little exciting as I haven't done one in a long time and you know I love my skittles. For anyone who doesn't know a skittle nail design means that every nail is different from any other. It can be different colours, patterns, whatever you want it to be.

For this design I used Powder Perfect Polish in Raspberry Whorl for the hot pink. The light pink is Alanna Renee It's a Girl. The gold glitter is Pretty Serious Dimension X and the gold is Esie Good as Gold. The flowers were made with a dotting tool.

We've hit hump day here in Australia and I can almost see the weekend from here, Tx :)

Silver Christmas Skittle

There's something about silver and white that just works on nails. I love this look and it was super easy. My silver candy cane nail was done with Zoya Dove, my middle finger is Zoya Seraphina, my ring is stamped with Essie No Place Like Chrome and I'm sorry I didn't write down the plate number and my pinkie is Hollish Nails Murder on the Dance Floor. I'm almost getting sad that Christmas nails will have to finish soon, so I'll try and cram a few in to these last couple of days. Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, Tx

Wave of Polish - Pregnancy and Infant Loss skittle

Today I'm excited to be wearing my first Pregnancy and Infant Loss mani. I've been overwhelmed at the resonse both to the Wave of Polish and the auctions. If you haven't yet please join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/waveofpolish/ and visit the auctions for all the details http://waveofpolish.blogspot.com.au/.

In this look I've used the amazing Alanna Renee It's a Boy blue shimmer, It's a Girl pink shimmer and Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice pink glitter. I used striping tape to create the stripes. A dotting tool to do the flowers and the dots. Now you know I'm not a pink girl so this month will be challenging but I do like how this turned out. Please follow the links below to see more Pregnancy and Infant Loss manis.

Happy birthday to my bestest nail friend

I love everything nail related, Love polishes and art, new collections and new creators but the single greatest thing I love about nails is the nail community. Not only do you find our hints and tips, or see new collections there is something so wonderful in being able to share your obsession with like minded people. You can break a nail and instead of the you've gone crazy looks I get at home, there are so many women who understand and empathise with me. My greatest 'find' since starting  my nail passion is not a hard to find polish, or a super technique, it's not even that amazing polish colour that suits your skin so beautifully. My greatest find is my dear nail buddy friend Natalia from Cats n Nails.

Natalia is the most generous, funny, kind lady you could come across. I don't remember what made us first 'click' but we did and haven't looked back. Natalia's responsible for making me smile on some of the toughest days when a surprise nail package arrives in the mail. She's always there if I want to chat about anything. She tries to teach me how to stamp lol and I just adore her.

So today is Natalia's birthday

Happy birthday Natalia!!!

Natalia wanted birthday nails to help her celebrate, sounds easy doesn't it? I tried to nail her down to a favourite colour and was given "I do like blue, purple, pink and teal, also black, silver and grey". Ahhh too many choices, I tried again a couple of days later and told her she had to give me just ONE - so she went for blurple lol. Only Natalia could fit two colours into one :). So blurple it is with a hint of silver and teal.

For Natalia's birthday skittles I used

Orly - Lunar Eclipse as the base colour
Essie - No Place Like Chrome is the silver used in stamping and dots
Zoya - Akyra is the teal.

Enjoy your birthday my beautiful friend xx

AN Monday - Pink

Now it's not as candy pink as  was going to go but it's still very pink. I'm not a pink girl so it's not my favourite and I think I will remove it soon :). I've got some awful bug and between that and it being pink I think my usual colour matching skills didn't work as well this time but yay it's done and it's still Monday!!

Base colour - OPI Sparrow me the Drama
Stripes, petals and little dots - Zoya Shelby
Middle of flowers and large dots - OPI Mod About You
Hearts - Zoya Shelby and OPI Mod About You

Going to crawl back onto the couch.

Hope your week is going well! Tx

Opi - You're Such a Budapest skittle

You will have seen a lot of swatches of OPI's ne Euro collection. This is one of my favourites from the collection is a gorgeous deep lilac with my favourite cream finish. It is gorgeous on it's own but I do love a skittle and I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. The idea for it comes from a pshiiit mani.

Using You're Such a Budapest as a base, I striped my pointer finger with striping tape and Essie Lilacism. My middle finger is flowers made with a dotting tool and Lime Crime's Milky Way. The ring finger is China Glaze Prism. Thumb and pinkie is dotted with Essie Lilacism.

I just love how soft and girly it is :)

Have a fabulous weekend!!! I have two techniques I've never tried coming up in the challenge groups I'm in, so will be very interesting to see how I go :)

Laidback Challenge - Skittle

Skittle nails started off being nails of different and bright colours - drum roll like Skittles of course :). Now a skittle mani means that every fingernail is different. For this skittle look I based it on the ring finger polish which is Femme Fatale Cosmetic's A Tisket, A Tasket.

A Tisket, A Tasket has a semi sheer white base with glitters in shades of green, teal and coral pink. It;s very soft and girly.  I picked two glitter colours to use on my other nails.

For the green I chose Essie Navigate Her, I was a bit disappointed that it dried a deeper browny green than it looked in the bottle but it is still close to the glitter colour I was aiming for. The coral pink is one of my new favourite polishes, Essie Van D'Go. It's such a pretty colour and sits just on the border of being coral or pink. The lighter green stripes are Essie Absolutely Shore.

This was fun and I like it but I do wish Navigate Her was the brighter green it seemed in the bottle.

Enjoy your Sunday, nasty Monday is creeping up on us very quickly :(
