AN Monday theme - Santa and/or Reindeer and/or Elves

It's Monday again already and the last one before the fat man visits so he had to feature on my nails. I added Mrs Claus as she always gets left out :). It was a lot of fun to do. I used OPI My Vampire is Buff as the base for Santa and Mrs Clause, the red is OPI All I Want For Christmas is OPI. Mrs Claus's glasses have Essie No Place Like Chrome, her cheeks are Zoya Brigitte and both their noses are Zoya Rue. Rudolph is Zoya Normandi with a England Perceval as his nose and Zoya Codie as antlers. The elf is dark green Don't Mess With Opi and the bright green is butter London Jaded Jack.

AN Monday - theme Sandy Claws aka textured Christmas Design

Yay first day for Christmas designs!! Today's is part of AN Monday, I'm not a huge texture fan. Every time I use one I wake up with red gritty eyes, so I must scratch them in my sleep. Lucky for me Merry from my Grace-full Christmas collection can be worn as either a texture polish or glossy with top coat. I painted the snowflakes on with another texture the satin OPI Love.Angel.Music Baby. They aren't the best ones I've done but working on a rough surface was very different for me.

I do adore the 1st of December even though there's a thunder storm on the first day of summer. It's also the day in our house when we put up the tree and I can't wait :)

An Monday theme - purple - Grace-full Nail Polish Gandalf's Fireworks

I'm so sorry I haven't had much time on my blog lately. I'm in the midst of a new collection and all my nail time is taken up with testing prototypes again and again until I have them exactly as I want them. I have just reformulated Gandalf's Fireworks so I was lucky for this AN Monday that I was actually wearing it while the purple theme was current. It's a deep purple jelly base packed with holo violet, matte teal, holo gold, copper and holo blue glitters. The playful bright colours represent the fireworks for the celebration of Bilbo's 111th birthday. This is a new formula with just a slight change in glitter to the older one.

I will definitely be doing a December full of Christmas designs, part of the reason why I want to do all the wearing and testing of the new collection now. Between now and then I do have a couple of how to posts planned and want to show you what a media kit is and how you go about making your own as well as some simple tutorials on how I apply jelly polishes etc. So please stay around I will be back :)

AN Monday (on a Tuesday) - location theme

This week's theme was he polish in the right hand front corner of your second drawer/box/row of the storage system closest to where you paint your nails. Mine was Zoya Mieko, it's meant to be a cerise colour but mine is far more orange than cerise. I used a Stuck on Love Decal I bought from Powder Perfect to make the mermaid scales using Zoya Ziv as a base. I totally love this polish and this look at it was really easy to do :)

AN Monday - theme - most used polish - OPI Mod About You

Today's theme is to use your most used polish. Believe it or not mine is pink OPI Mod About You (so not a pink girl). I must use it a lot in nail art as it's the first polish I've had to buy a second bottle of, not including black or white. So since it was pink I decided to go girly with some bling. I used a to be released Grace-full Nail Polish Silver for the crescent glitter and added the little pink stars and diamentes. I actually so like this one, maybe all this nail art is turning me into a more girly girl :)

AN Monday - Halloween free for all

I don't usually do Halloween nails but I wanted to join in this week and try out the new nail vinyls from Celestial Cosmetics. I'm not a big fan on having a vinyl decal on my nail so I cut out the background and used that as a template to paint the shapes on my nails. It worked beautifully and the shapes came out crisp and clear. For the orange in this design I used OPI Toucan Do It If You Try, the purple is OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? and the glitter is Celestial Cosmetics End of Days.

I might not do them but I am looking forward to seeing all the Halloween nails :) Tx

AN Monday - theme - favourite brand - Zoya Ryan and Remy

I just couldn't choose one favourite Australian Indie so I went with my favourite mainstream brand Zoya. I love everything about Zoya polishes from the brush to the formula, and on me they wear great. In this look I used Zoya Ryan  and Remy with a diamond striping tape pattern. I love the pop of colour Remy adds underneath Ryan.

AN Monday - Favourite Colour Combination

I have way too many favourite colour combos! It wasn't an easy choice but I ended up with lemon, white and grey. The lemon is Lime Crime Crema De Limon, the grey is Zoya Dove and the white Kester Black French White.I free handed the flowers, the dots are with a dotting tool and the chevrons were made with nail vinyls as templates. I really do adore these colours together but keep thinking maybe I should have done a different one :)

Aussie Nails Monday - theme - favourite colour

No surprising that I chose green as my favourite colour. I'm not convinced that the colours look good together, think I didn't choose quite the right shades. The two light greens are customs cremes from Powder Perfect and the emerald green micro glitter and dark green creme are made by me.The wave design was done with decals that you can find on ebay.

Aussie Nails Monday - theme Spring

I love little daisies and I love how daisies look in nail art, so I had to do them for today's theme. I used piCture pOlish Chillax for the base colour, OPI Solitaire on my middle finger, OPI Alpine Snow for the daisies and Lime Crime Crema Di Limon for the daisies centre. I love it and think it looks a subtle floral look.

Aussie Nails Monday - them nerd/geeky - Big Bang Theory nails

I do love the TV show The Big Bang Theory so couldn't wait to try out a design. I copied most of the clothing off my son's t-shirt. Raj didn't go quite according to plan, there's always one isn't there? The rest I love and hope they are recognisable, just in case my Index is Sheldon, middle finger is Howard, ring is Raj, pinkie is Leonard and my thumb is Soft Kitty. I just had to do Soft Kitty as I adore it!! I do not hold any hope for being a great freehand nail artist but I was happy with how these came out :).

AN Monday - Glitter bomb

Just a short post today as this beauty was from an Emily de Molly sample sale. I love it, it's a lot like a green version of Emily de Molly's Turbulence. It is sample number 13 and if I could encourage you to buy it I would but it's a one off :(. However if you don't own Turbulence yet buy it as both are breath taking :)

AN Monday - Plaid or Argyle

Just a quick one as I have a rotten migraine sneaking up on me :(. This week's theme was plaid or argyle, somehow I fluked this one. I started off doing a more argyle look but my polish fit so well together it was easy to turn it into a plaid look.I taped off the first two diamonds for the argyle pattern but the rest ended up to be freehand. The colours are Zoya Odette for the deepest pink, the base to the plaid is a lighter pink and is Zoya Rue, the slightly deeper pink in the plaid is Zoya Brigitte and the cream is Zoya Chantal.

Aussie Nails Monday theme - matte

It's already time for another Aussie Nails Monday, the weeks are seriously flying past. I kind of cheated on today's theme as I've had a migraine. I went for a very simple look using Zoya Raven as my base, I then painted Zoya Opal over the top and finished with Celestial Cosmetics Matte Top Coat. I do love the look of flakies matte but I did want to do a nail art design for the challenge. Maybe I'l do one later in the week :)
