piCture pOlish - Whimsy review

This week I have the stunning Whimsy by piCture pOlish to review for you. I've loved all the polishes I've reviewed so far but this may be my favourite. It is a gorgeous bright aqua blue, packed full of golden shimmer. It practically glows on the nail and I can't stop looking at it. I am wearing three thin coats and it applied like a dream with quick drying time. I had to do an accent finger so I use striping tape to tape off sections and used complementary blues and a gold. I love the final look almost as much as I love this polish. I can see I will be wearing it a lot and I love that it's unique in my collection.

piCture pOlish have provided this polish to me for review, to grab some for yourself go to piCture pOlish On-line Store.

Hibiscus mani

This look was based on a design by http://lusterlacquer.blogspot.com.au/. I wanted to try to paint Hibiscus, they are far from perfect but I'm pleased how they turned out. I use Zoya Dove on my Index and pinkie nails and piCture pOlish Peaches n'cream for the zigzag/chevron and Hibiscus petals. The darker orange is butter London Trout Pout. I free handed the flowers and used decals as guides for painting the chevron.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Tx

Happy Birthday to Me

Happy birthday to me :). I love a good cupcake mani but decided I wanted a more elegant mani for my birthday. As Bellissima by EmilydeMolly is my favourite polish at the moment it had to be featured. I then used a England Merlin on my pinkie and OPI Rumple's Wiggin on my pointer and middle nails. I used a light coat of Northern Lights hologram top coat over Rumple's Wiggin, it didn't photograph well but adds a nice little sparkle. I even used my szarkowski crystal as decoration, must be a special day to break them out :)

I'm off to enjoy my day, hope yours is fabulous too, Tx

Spring daisy nail art

I finally got around to using acrylic paints, while I still need lots of practice to perfect them I'm really happy with my daisies :). The base colour is Zoya Josie and the rest is acrylic paints I picked up at my local newsagency. They were so much easier to work with than polish and I didn't have any smears in adding a top coat.

Yay tomorrow is Friday, and one day until my birthday. I'm not too old to still get excited am I? I've asked for so many polishes that I may have to be on a no buy until Christmas collection time :)
Enjoy your day, Tx

ps don't forget to share the wave of polish around!!

Rainbow Honey - i miss you

I miss you is a gorgeous glitter topper that is packed full of gorgeous iridescent glitters including butterflies and hearts. The pastel glitter is so pretty and the pop of matte candy pink square glitter is magical. I am wearing one coat over Rainbow Honey Tessie and they are a match made in heaven.  The polish applied well, I did place where I wanted the larger glitters to achieve a smooth look. It was really difficult to photograph and looks even better in real life.

This gorgeous Rainbow Honey i miss you polish can be purchased  through thewebsite Femme Fatale Cosmetics. i miss you is priced at RRP $11.85. You can find out more about the amazing Femme Fatale Cosmetics and see more of their range by following them on Facebook and visiting their website

Cirque - Erda

I'll start by saying be warned there is a lot of pictures. I love green, think I may have mentioned it a LOT before. This green bombshell warms my heart! It is so beautiful, has so much depth and glows on my nails. It has a metallic finish and a very slight duochrome effect. It goes from an emerald green to teal in the right light. I am wearing two coats of Erda over a black base colour. As with all Cirque polishes I've used it has a fantastic formula and applied easily.

I hope you didn't miss our sneak peek look at the first 3 items we have for auction

 Happy Tuesday, Tx

piCture pOlish - Frosting review

It's my birthday week so it was easy to decide which piCture pOlish shade I would review this week. Frosting created with Cosmetic Cupcake was the perfect choice. With a pale pink creme background this polish is packed with small violet, fuchsia and silver glitter hex glitters and the gorgeous silver heart glitters really finish it off. The formula is quite thick and this made application a little tricky but it also stopped any need for fishing for glitters as they all came out easily on the brush. I did choose to place the hearts as I like a smooth look to finished nails. I ended up using a base pale pink colour and then dabbed Frosting on to achieve the look I wanted. For my accent finger I used Essie Go Ginza and some nail polish decal hearts in Frosting, OPI Funky Dunkey and Zoya Reagan. I created them using the method ohmygoshpolish has shown through tutorials.

All in all I think it makes the perfect birthday look and who doesn't think of cupcakes when you see this polish?

AN Monday - Inspired by a Blogger

Today's theme is a mani inspired by another blogger. I chose this on http://pshiiit.com/2013/04/03/nail-art-fleuri-avec-bourjois-et-essie/ by Pshiiit. I adore everything she does and would love the have just half the skill she does.

For my base I used butter London Blagger - a gorgeous royal blue creme that applied like a dream. The flowers are five dots with white and the ring finger and middle of the flowers are Essie Beyond Cozy. I love little dot flowers and this is a great look for spring time.

Hope you had a great weekend and that you all saw yesterday's post. Follow one of the links and join in!!

Wave of Polish - Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

This is a project I've been working on and a very personal one.

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month and a cause very close to my heart. As you may or may not know I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 30 weeks due to an autoimmune disease I have. She was born breathing and crying and far beyond everyone's expectations. At 30hrs old she started to deteriorate and at 32 1/2 hrs old she passed away in my arms from a rare premature complication. As I'm sure you can imagine its been the worst experience of my life. Since then I have done what I can to ensure that other parents can have help and support during this awful time.

As October is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, throughout the month I ask that you paint your nails blue and pink on a Tuesday to show your support and raise awareness of pregnancy and Infant loss.

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness day, so if there is only one Tuesday you can commit to painting your nails this month please chose this date. Around the world on the 15th October at 7pm people are asked to light a candle. Then throughout the time zones a wave of light is made in memory of the precious lives taken too soon. Let's also make October 15th a wave of polished hands showing support throughout the world. If you would like to do more days in the month that would be great too

In conjunction with the wave of polish campaign I will be holding an auction of one off polishes made by our amazing Australian Indies and also some gorgeous pastels from amazing Australian polish brands. The auction will start on the 8th October at 9am and finish on the 15th October. Visit http://waveofpolish.blogspot.com.au/ for all the details

1 in 4 pregnancies will end in loss, leaving behind devastated families. Please show your support and help raise awareness.

I will set up an inlinkz code for blogs and we will use #pregnancyandinfantloss on instagram.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/waveofpolish/

A zillion thank yous to the wonderful Aussie Indies that have supported this cause.

Neon China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy

I love the look of neutrals and neons together but this didn't come out quite like I imagined. I used the ultimate neo China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and OPI Did you 'ear about Van Gogh. The neon seemed to turn Did you 'ear about Van Gogh far browner than it usually seems. I still like it but it's not what I pictured so I'll have to try again another time. I am really loving neons at moment, they are so vibrant and fun :)

Yay for the weekend! Hope your week's been a good one, Tx

Ovarian Cancer Awareness

It is national Ovarian Cancer awareness month in the US, I decided to still join this cause as we are losing far too many women to this hideous cancer. So today's look is in teal, the colour that represents ovarian cancer awareness. The teal I have used in OPI Fly, a gorgeous creme teal. I think did my glitter finger with a base of Zoya Trixie and a England's amazing Merlin glitter. I love the finished look and think this is a very worthwhile cause. Below are some statistics and information relative to Australia.

In Australia, three women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day. It could be you, your friend, your partner, your sister, your mum, your gran or your daughter. There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer and the Pap test does not detect the disease. More than 1300 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Australia each year and 800 women will die from the disease. Approximately 75% of women are diagnosed at an advanced stage, where the cancer has spread and is difficult to treat successfully. At the moment, only 43% of women with ovarian cancer will be alive five years later. But if ovarian cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, women have an 80% chance of being alive and well after five years. More women need to be diagnosed at an early stage when ovarian cancer is very treatable. And that is why everyone needs to know more about ovarian cancer and its symptoms.

Ovarian Cancer Australia is Australia's leading organisation for ovarian cancer awareness and support. We are committed to ensuring that every Australian knows the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Do you?

OPI - Keeping Suzi at Bay Dotticure

Today I have a simple but fun dotticure using OPI Keeping Suzi at Bay as a base colour. Polka dots are very simple to do but look fabulous on nails. There are so many options and styles you can try. If you don't own a set of dotting tools you really should, you can pick them up on eBay cheaply. I used Essie Bikini So Teeny and a white creme by EmilydeMolly for the dots.

Have a fabulous Thursday, Tx
