Fashion dots nail design

Good morning everyone. I don't know if you're like me but sometimes I see something and think wow that will make a great nail design. I guess it's the addict in me that can relate inanimate objects to nail art. I was watching a tv special and the scarf on the lady below just screamed out to be used in nail art so I've done a little recreation. I do adore polka dots and love this look, now I'd love to find the scarf somewhere too. I used Zoya Raven as my base, you will notice I use it a lot for black and that's because it doesn't smear easily and doesn't stain at all. Some darker polishes will stain cuticles if you have a muck up so I like the fact I don't have that worry with Raven. The majority of the dots are OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, it's perfect for this look as it's greyish white. The grey dots are Zoya Dove and the pops of bright green are butter London squatter. Now I'm going to try and hunt down that scarf ;)

Have an amazing Friday, Tx.

Dotticure Valentine's Day Nail Design

Another super easy and fun Valentine's mani. This one is Essie Brazilliant for the gorgeous shimmery pink, OPI Mod About You, OPI Sparrow Me The Drama and Brazilliant for the dots. The hearts were made using a sticking decal, you paint over the decal, carefully remove the sticker and top coat the design.

Yay for Friday, hope your week has gone well, Tx.

Neon Dots

I love playing with neons but this design didn't come out quite like the image I had in my head. I'm not sure if I like it or not... Anyway I did the white base and dots of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Towel Boy Toy, I'm with the Lifeguard and Beach Cruise-r with Miss Ashleigh And It Was All Yellow., I taped a section off and painted it black. I then did white dots and went over them with the neons to make the colours pop. Hmm still not sure.

Yay it's Saturday, I love weekends, hope you have a fantastic one, Tx

Aussie Nails Monday - Polka Dots

Unfortunately I've had to trim back my nails as by part way through December I had splits start appearing for no reason. I got to Christmas with the help of silk wraps, then I had to trim them back to start again. I know they are longer nubs than a lot of people but I really like some length in mine. At least they grow quickly and hopefuly this time, they will be a little healthier.

Now today's look is from AN Monday theme of polka dots (I'm a day late but better late than never). The purple is Zoya Malia, with Zoya Snow White, Raven and Trixie for the accent colours. I like a good polka dot mani as they are easy and look fab.

Have a happy Tuesday, Tx

Polka dot Christmas

A really easy but fun look for the festive season. Just choose some festive colours and add the dots. You'll be done in a couple of minutes but still have eye catching nails. The red I used is Pretty Serious Hell on Wheels and the green is butter London Squatter. Try it!

Hibiscus mani

This look was based on a design by http://lusterlacquer.blogspot.com.au/. I wanted to try to paint Hibiscus, they are far from perfect but I'm pleased how they turned out. I use Zoya Dove on my Index and pinkie nails and piCture pOlish Peaches n'cream for the zigzag/chevron and Hibiscus petals. The darker orange is butter London Trout Pout. I free handed the flowers and used decals as guides for painting the chevron.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Tx

Neon China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy

I love the look of neutrals and neons together but this didn't come out quite like I imagined. I used the ultimate neo China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and OPI Did you 'ear about Van Gogh. The neon seemed to turn Did you 'ear about Van Gogh far browner than it usually seems. I still like it but it's not what I pictured so I'll have to try again another time. I am really loving neons at moment, they are so vibrant and fun :)

Yay for the weekend! Hope your week's been a good one, Tx

Ovarian Cancer Awareness

It is national Ovarian Cancer awareness month in the US, I decided to still join this cause as we are losing far too many women to this hideous cancer. So today's look is in teal, the colour that represents ovarian cancer awareness. The teal I have used in OPI Fly, a gorgeous creme teal. I think did my glitter finger with a base of Zoya Trixie and a England's amazing Merlin glitter. I love the finished look and think this is a very worthwhile cause. Below are some statistics and information relative to Australia.

In Australia, three women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day. It could be you, your friend, your partner, your sister, your mum, your gran or your daughter. There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer and the Pap test does not detect the disease. More than 1300 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Australia each year and 800 women will die from the disease. Approximately 75% of women are diagnosed at an advanced stage, where the cancer has spread and is difficult to treat successfully. At the moment, only 43% of women with ovarian cancer will be alive five years later. But if ovarian cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, women have an 80% chance of being alive and well after five years. More women need to be diagnosed at an early stage when ovarian cancer is very treatable. And that is why everyone needs to know more about ovarian cancer and its symptoms.

Ovarian Cancer Australia is Australia's leading organisation for ovarian cancer awareness and support. We are committed to ensuring that every Australian knows the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Do you?

Dotticure

I do love polka dots!! I also really like this gorgeous peaches n' cream colour by Picture Polish. The perfect match for me was black, white and silver and I love how it all came together. Dots are really one of the simplest nail arts and there offer so many options. A dotting tool is a must have and you can usually pick up a set very cheaply on ebay. The silver which is Trixie by Zoya really adds a nice pop to the look.

Sorry I've missed a day and am not very verbose, I have a migraine that just won't go away. It gets a little better and allows me out of bed, then slams me down again. I am super excited about the royal baby and hope to do a royal baby mani soon :)

Have a fabulous Wednesday, Tx
