Orly Baked Collection review Neon Heat, Lush and Hot Tropics

I love that Orly is bringing out some bright colours in the cooler months. Just seeing them makes you feel a little bit warmer :)

Orly Baked Collection

TEMPERATURES WILL SOAR THIS WINTER WITH
ORLY’S INNOVATIVE NEW COLLECTION – BAKED

Transform your winter blues with ORLY’s bold NEW collection – Baked. Inspired by the hot days and
balmy nights of seasons gone by, Baked will have you embracing exotic, neon hues to warm your
fingertips up this winter.

A brand new and innovative formula the Baked colour collection has been infused with baked
pigments, speciality micas, vitamins and minerals. The pigment in each Baked shade is milled to a
micro fine particle size and then heat treated at high temperatures to ensure pigment easily disperses
into the base.

Allowing for an ultra-smooth application, maximum colour payoff and superior shine, each polish also
contains antioxidant vitamins A and E to help promote healthy nails, while pro-vitamin B5 protects the
structure of the natural nail. A vivacious palette of six uber-saturated colours, ORLY’s Baked

Collection features:
• Tropical Pop: Neon Orange • Ablaze: Bright Orange w/Gold Shimmer
• Lush: Lime Green Jelly w/ Holo Bar Glitter • Neon Heat: Fuchsia Crème
• Hot Tropics: Bright Purple Shimmer
• Saturated: Violet Crème

You’ll never have to leave the heat behind again with this daring and bright collection, a six-piece
collection will turn usually dull, damp days into an experience in the tropics. What’s more each shade in
the Baked Collection is formulated without DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde and Formaldehyde Resin and
are equipped with ORLY’s world famous Gripper Cap for easier application.

Now onto some swatches.

This pink is Neon Heat and it is a really strong neon pink. The photographs just don't do it justice. It's very neon and very pink and the best neon formula I've ever used. It must be the new baked formulation as it didn't streak as most neons do, it applied just like a creme. It did have a matte finish but no where near as strong as the normal neon polishes. I am wearing two coats.

Next is Orly's Lush. I'm sorry Orly but I just am not a fan. The colour is a chartreuse leaning far more toward yellow than the bottle shows and fits in the neon theme but it isn't flattering on me. It has a jelly base and is packed with glitter bars. It was hard to get the bars to lie flat and the formula was a bit gloopy. I am wearing two coats with no base colour, maybe with the right base this could be better.

Lastly is my favourite of these 3, a purple shimmer, Hot Tropics. It has shimmer and boy does it have shimmer. I often find myself disappointed that the shimmer in some polishes doesn't transfer well onto the nail but Hot Tropics delivers. Again the formula was like applying a creme and I am wearing two coats.

I hope you've enjoyed the pop of colour in the middle of the cold weather. The Baked collection will be released in July and available through Orly Beauty for RRP of $18.95 for 18 ml.

These polishes were sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Please note computer monitors may vary in colour display.

  1. Hot Tropics is the best of the 3 I think! Not keen on Lush either - looks weird :-|

    1. It is weird isn't it? A nice neon green creme or shimmer would have been a great addition!
