Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Drama Sheen, Bait Me, Slick Black, Pearly Whites, Sparks Fly and Make Waves

Hey everyone, today I'm bringing six of the new Sally Hansen polishes to share with you.

The colours and finishes offered in this new formula are really great and I have a great selection to share with you. The formula was generally  great on all of them. Some were a little sheer and needed more coats and I found the glitter one I had didn't build in opacity so I added a base colour. Number of coats etc is listed below photos.

First is Drama Sheen, a mauve with a strong pink shimmer running through it. It has a pearl finish and is soft and feminine. I used 3 coats here and probably could have done with 4, the formula was a little thin.

This light grey is Bait Me, it's just off being white with a hint of grey throughout that I really like. I am wearing two coats.

 Slick Black is third and this is a great deep black with a strong shimmer. I am wearing two coats.

Number four is Pearly whites which is a topper full of iridescent shards and glitter. I added one coat over  Slick Black. It plays beautifully with lights and reflects many colours.

Number five is a pretty glitter called Sparks Fly. I am wearing one coat over blue. The glitter applied well with plenty available on the brush.

Last but not least is my favourite Make Waves, a pretty duochrome that changes from turquoise blue to a goldish green. I am wearing 3 coats but imagine with a black base you would need less coats.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Jungle Gem

Today's look features Jungle Gem from Sally Hansen as the base colour. Jungle Gem is a deep richly pigmented teal, perfect for autumn. I didn't have any problems with application and this polish could be a one coater. I chose to wear two coats to see if the colour deepened. This Complete Salon Manicure polish wasn't a crelly like the other two I've reviewed recently buy it still dries with a super glossy finish. I chose to wear base coat even though this polish is designed to be an all in one as teal is notorious for staining nails. I had no problems with staining at all. I wore this for about 5 days and didn't have any chips and minimum wear on the tips. Jungle Gem is a good basic polish in a gorgeous colour at a great price.

The silvery grey I used for dots and stripes is Zoya Tao.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Red Zin and AN Monday theme - Autumn

Today I'm showcasing Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Red Zin and using it in an Autumn theme for AN Monday. As with Plum Luck. Red Zin is a part of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure that is a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired colour, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish all in one. I do love the crelly finish both Plum Luck and Red Zin give but as they are dark colours I prefer to wear a base coat to prevent staining. It does dry beautifully glossy but I have used top coat for protection. Red Zin a true red with a slight leaning to a brown red. It applies darker than the bottle and the more coats you use the darker it becomes. Red Zin had some patchy spots so I had to use 4 thin coats to cover them all. It really is the perfect autumn colour. I did an accent nail on my pinkie in Alanna Renne Golden Snitch. For my ring I used Zoya Minka and stamped leaves with gold.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Plum Luck

Today I'm featuring Plum Luck from Sally Hansen. The Complete Salon Manicure range says it is a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired colour, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish all in one. That's probably ok if you are only wearing the polish for a special occasion but I find that to increase wear time and prevent staining it is always best to wear a base coat. It does finish with a super glossy look so top coat is only required for protection. Plum Luck is a pretty deep plum creme, it dries a lot darker than it looks in the bottle which I just love as I'm really enjoying vampy colours at the moment. I also like the gel finish, it gives the creme polish a jelly look which I love but it can lead to patchy spots in application so you need to apply carefully. I am wearing 3 coats here to gain full opacity. Personally I love the brushes as they have a rounded end and for someone like me with small nail beds they work far better than the wide brushes. As I love my nail art I couldn't leave you with just plain swatches so I added a glitter accent and a grey base with dots. This is a really great polish for autumn and while the colour isn't unique it's available at a good price if you don't have one in your stash.

Sally Hansen - Lickety-Split Lime

I just adore this green so wanted to use it in a fun mani. I also love a chevron and a little diamante here and there :). I love how it turned out!

Ring Zoya Purity and these amazing stick on chevrons I found on Etsy. I can do a chevron but top coat makes them run every single time so I'm loving the decals.

Candy cane nails - Day 4 Christmas Challenge

I really love the traditional candy cane manicure. I was going to do different colours again but I couldn't resist the traditional colours. It looks so Christmasy (if that's a word lol).

I used striping tape which is an absolute pain to use but worked to give me the desired look. The most difficult thing about this mani was finding the right top coat to not make the stripes bleed. I had to do a couple of attempts and even with an hours drying time on this one there is still a small amount of bleeding. I'll explain below a few tips I learnt while doing this mani.

For the white base I first used two coats of Nubar faded putty - this is a just off white with a hint of beige.

I then used one coast of Essence to go - Sparkling Water Lily. I used one coat of top coat and gave it half hour to dry. I then used striping tape placed like photo below.

Once I made sure all tape was stuck well and had pressed the sides in with a cuticle stick I added one coat of Sally Hansen Ruby Stilettos.

I first did this look with Essie After Sex and Leading Lady but they bled a lot. With SH ruby stilettos I found wiping my brush dry two times and applying a thin coat worked well, I then waited 1 minute 20 seconds before carefully removing the tape. It helped to pull the tape slowly and carefully not in the whip off manner I have used previously. The end result was worth it and the bleeds you see in the photos are not noticeable in real life, the camera truly does magnify everything!

UPDATE As Robyn noted I forgot to say about top coats. I tried both HK girl and Orly sec'n'dry and both made the polish bleed badly. This may not have been their fault as I could have waited longer, though with Orly it was 30 minutes. I eventually used my fav seche vite, it only bled a small amount, so much so that I didn't know it had until I saw the photos. This was added one hour after the last red nail polish.

I loved how this taped mani turned out and it was really easy to do! I used Cirque Never Nude as a base colour. I taped off sections and used Zoya Diva, Zoya Mitra and Sally Hansen Lava to create the look. Lava deserves a post all of it's own as it is just gorgeous and goes from gold through orange to a orangey pink. I love it!
