Periwinkle blue and lace nail design

I've started playing around making myself polish, it's super fun and I love the colour of this creme I made. It really is a stunning periwinkle or a light blurple. I teamed it up with gold with China Glaze I'm Not Lion on my ring finger. I used Messy Mansion lace plate for the stamp and I love the end result.

AN Monday - Glitter bomb

Just a short post today as this beauty was from an Emily de Molly sample sale. I love it, it's a lot like a green version of Emily de Molly's Turbulence. It is sample number 13 and if I could encourage you to buy it I would but it's a one off :(. However if you don't own Turbulence yet buy it as both are breath taking :)

Crumpet's Simples - Nail art from muggle to mastery - Splodge week

I've never done a splodge before and while it isn't technically difficult I found it hard to randomly splodge nail polish. It's the OCD in me that likes everything symmetrical and in it's place :) To learn about splodge designs The Crumpet has a great post and video tutorial up here. So once I'd done and photographed my splodge I had to add a bit of symmetry back in so I added the zig zags in white, it makes my heart happy lol. I truthfully am very bad, I like things arranged in odd numbers, never even, I can tell you if someone has moved one of my ornaments and have to have the towels all hanging just right :) We won't even talk about how clothes MUST hang on the clothesline hee hee. I used my custom cremes from Powder Perfect in this one excet for the magenta which is Rimmel Don't be Shy.

Love, Love, Love - Love is all you need

Sorry I have "all You Need is Love" stuck in my head, be happy you can't hear me singing :) Today's nails are simple but fun. I used a custom Powder Perfect pink and the deep lilac is one I made. It's a little more girly than what I normally wear but it's nice to step out of my comfort box. I hand painted the hearts hence some being wonky. I should be wearing my winter colours still as it's been freezing here but I seem to be attracted to the brighter and pastels right now. At least we are in the last month of winter! I can't wait for spring :)

Bright Leopard print

Today I felt like a feel good mani so went for bright and animal print. It has photographed brighter than it is, butter London Squatter is not a neon yellow, as it looks in the photos but a nice bright green. Leopard print is very easy to do. Just make uneven blobs of colour with your dotting tool, then add the 'C's' around the blob with either your dotting tool, a tooth pick or a nail art brush. I teamed the green with Zoya Raegen, pink and green in all shades make a nice change from the usual colours.

Teal and Gold Nails

Hope you're week is going well. For today's look I just have to say I love teal and gold together they are a match made in heaven <3. My index and ring finger is Kester Black Laguna, the gold is OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. For the heart I used a heart shaped hole puncher on some sticky tape, I then place it on my nails and carefully paint the hear before pulling off tape and adding a layer of top coat. Love.Angel.Music.Baby doesn't need top coat as it has a satin finish but I did use top coat and it still looks pretty. It's a simple design to do but it looks fabulous in the end :)

Vale Robin Williams

I am wearing green today not just because I love green but because it is the colour for depression awareness. I'm sure, like many of you, I was deeply saddened by the death of Robin Williams. When the person I would class as the world's funniest man dies from depression I feel strongly that as a society we have to sit up and take notice. I have chronic depression and have had it for 20 years, there has been improvement in society's attitudes towards depression since my early days of battling depression but it's obvious it needs to go further. There are so many myths and such a strong belief that people just need to "get over it", it's just not that easy and as Robin Williams death shows us again it can be fatal. We need to do more to stop losing so many to a difficult but treatable illness. While some would criticise me and ask what a simple nail art design can do to help depression, I think "awesome" because at least it's made people think about depression.

Vale Robin Williams, you gave us all so much and the world has lost a beautiful soul.
