Cate Ruby - Navy Star glitter gradient

Just a simple glitter gradient today. I love how simple they are to do but look so pretty on your nails. The base colour is Cate Ruby Navy Star and the glitter is Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytale. I have a busy weekend ahead in digging out al the Christmas decorations and finding a spot for them. I hope all my US visitors had a wonderful thanksgiving.

Dead Set Babes - Neutron Star Collision, After Dark and Danger! High Voltage!

Today I have 3 fun polishes from Dead Set Babes to review for you. Dead Set Babes is an Australian Indie and you can find them at their etsy store.

Today I have three gorgeous polishes from the amazing Dead Set babes to share with you.  The first is Neutron Star Collision. In a dark dark purple base it has holographic micro-glitter in green, blue, gold and silver. It's one of those polishes that keep you looking at your nails as the light catches and it sparkles in so many colours. It was super easy to apply and I am wearing two coats. This is a gorgeous unique polish and I love all the colours together.

The second polish today is Danger! High Voltage!. This is a super trendy polish as it has skull glitter in it, super cute for those who love skulls. I applied one dabbed coat over Zoya Dove. I had to do a little fishing but not a lot as I'd left the bottle turned upside down. Application was great and I love how Dead Set Babes offers polishes with a twist. Sometimes it feels like we see the same thing over and over again so I love the variety of polishes Dead Set Babe has on the market.

Lastly is After Dark and this is a stunner! In a blackened base this polish has a duo chrome effect, so in some lights it looks more purple and in others it looks blue. You can see this in the photos below, it's a subtle change and just so pretty. The formula on this polish was incredible and application a breeze. I am wearing two thin coats.

Emily de Molly - Dark Depths colour blocking

I tried something a little different and it kind of worked and kind of didn't. I wanted to colour block an accent nail over a gorgeous glitter. I did manage to achieve that but my choice of colours let me down and the navy blue doesn't show as much a I would have liked. I still like the end results and think it's just as important to share the ones that didn't work as it is the ones that did. I know and now you know in attempting this again I need to pick two contrasting colours over subtle matching colours. The gorgeous base glitter is the rich coloured Dark Depths by Emily de Molly. I am often asked about the silver glitter, this is my favourite silver glitter look and I use one coat of Zoya Trixie an one or two coats of a England's Merlin. Merlin is a fabulous silver glitter and a must have for any collection.

piCture pOlish - Marine dotticure

I've done a dotticure today featuring the amazing Aussie brand piCture pOlish and one of their gorgeous cremes Marine. It is the perfect teal colour and the formula is fantastic and allows easy application. I decided to do my ring finger in white with black, silver and marine dots and a England Merlin silver glitter on my pinkie. It's a fun look that is incredibly easy to achieve.

AN Monday theme Aussie Indie Gold - Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Sparkling Sands

For today's theme I chose to use Femme Fatale Cosmetics Sparkling Sands. It really is the perfect name as it looks like the beach sand and the little stars could be star fish. I used it on it's own in two coats and it's lovely as a unique gold glitterbomb. Femme Fatale Cosmetics describe this polish as "Sparkling Sands is a glitter polish created to resemble the the complex shoreline. It’s a mildly tinted base using golden shimmering mica, and contains various caramel and golden glitters in multitude of smaller sizes both in hexes and squares, along with very subtle flashes of fine glass fleck pink". This has been discontinued so if you want one you need to grab one now.

New Indie - Hollish Nails

Today I have a new Aussie Indie to share with you. Hollish Nails can be found on etsy. I was lucky enough to have a chance to review four of their polishes. The first two are from the Death by Sparkles collection and are just fabulous. This one is Cyan-ide and it's a gorgeous polish of holographic glitter. I have used my 3 coats, like always but complete coverage was achieved with 2 coats. One of the greatest things about the Death by Sparkles collection is they dry to a texture finish and can be left as a texture or be used with a top coat. I used a top coat as I'm not a huge fan of the texture finish. This polish applied beautifully and I was really impressed with the quality of the polish.

I Bleed Rubies is also from the Death by Sparkles collection and again dries to a texture finish or you can add top coat. I Bleed Rubies is a deep pink and I am wearing 3 thin coats but full coverage was achieved at 2 coats. It is just so sparkly, far more than the photos show. Application was again a breeze and I love these polishes for their coverage, colours and sparkle.

Thirdly is a gorgeous glitter topper called Peacock Noir. This is stunning and has all the colours of a peacock in small glitter. There is aqua, purple, green and gold. I am wearing it here over Zoya Imperial Russia. Application was super easy with no fishing for glitter.

Lastly I have another gorgeous topper with gold flakes. I am wearing it over Zoya Natty and I just love how it looks. It's perfect to add an extra pop to plain nail polish. Application was simple and I only used one coat.

Dead Set Babes - Festivus Collection

Today I have the Dead Set Babes Festivus Collection to share with you. I love both polishes and think they are just lovely. You can purchase these through the Dead Set Babes etsy store for $9.95.  You can also find Dead Set Babes on Facebook to keep up with the latest news.

 Firstly is You Don't Know Jack (Frost). Bella from Dead Set Babes describes it as "a blue to red shifting base filled with fine & medium sized iridescent glitter and white snowflakes". I have worn it over a white base colour and the iridescent glitter is just so beautiful. I really love the snowflake glitter and it adds an extra wow factor to a beautiful polish. This one is absolutely ideal for the festive season. Application was great and after having the bottle upside down for awhile before application I had no problems with the snowflake glitter.

The second Christmas Festivus polish is Griswald Family Christmas Tree. Wow this one is so appropriately named and it's like the Griswald's were captured in a bottle. It's out there and I just love it for being different, innovative and just a fun polish to wear. It has bar glitter and many many dots in different colours and sizes. It really does look like a Christmas tree. I have applied it over a base colour of Zoya Tangy and as I used the dab glitter method it's hard to say how many coats I used. Again with having the bottle upside down I had no problems with glitter coming out. The only problem I did have was to make sure I pushed all the bar glitter into place to avoid any hang over pieces. I even chopped a couple that I noticed too late to maneuver around. I love it so much, perfect name for a perfectly unique polish.
