Zoya Storm Chevron

I adore this gorgeous black polish by Zoya. Storm is full of holographic glitter and is amazing in the sun. I also find it the best black to use for chevrons/zigzags, it doesn't bleed and applies easily. My index and pinkie are my usual trusty butter London Union Jack Black, my middle finger is Zoya Storm and my ring has a base of Zoya Trixie and Zoya Storm used over a precut sticker as a guide for the chevron. It's the same method I used for the piCture pOlish blog fest mani.

Yay for the weekend, time with family is the best times of all. Tx

a England Perceval

Another a England beauty to show you today this stunning red ia Perceval. It is gorgeous and has a beautiful metallic finish. It is up there with my favourite red nail polishes of all time. It applied like a dream and caused no staining. I used a Pueen plate to stamp the lace rose design and my trusty butter London Union Jack Black for the black. I'm so in love with this look, it's girly and vampy at the same time :).

Well it's another dreary rainy day here, I really am over the rain and my backyard looks like a swimming pool. Only a few days until spring is here!! Enjoy your Friday, Tx.

Holo Tape Mani

I love a tape mani and wanted to try one with a holographic polish to add that burst of sparkle and rainbows. I started with a base of Zoya Jacqueline. Then used ordinary sticky tape to tape off sections of nail. The most important thing in using ordinary tape is to first stick it to the back of your hand a couple of times to lose some of the stickiness. It's a little tricky you need enough adhesion to ensure polish doesn't seep underneath the tape but if it's too sticky you risk pulling your base coat off. I then used a England Galahad and EmilydeMolly High Distinction in the taped off areas. Just one thin coat is enough. Top coat it all and you're finished! I love the clean lines of a taped mani and the holo did add a wow factor.

Yay guys half way through the week! It's a little daunting as we are moving very quickly towards Father's Day and I have no idea what I want to buy the 2 most important men in my life. Slow down a little week and give me some time to think :). Tx.

a England Galahad and the moonbeams..

I'm so in love with a England and so pleased that this amazing brand is now so readily available in Australia. I may have been buying up a little lot :). Today I have the super amazing Galahad, a gorgeous creme finish in a soft dusty teal. It applied like a dream and is just the prettiest colour. I own quite a few teals but the soft dusty leanings of this colour make it unique to my collection. I used and the moonbeams... on my pinkie and I love it :). It's nice to have the pinkie as an accent nail for a change. It took 4 light coats to reach opaqueness. I then stamped my ring finger using a pueen plate and China Glaze Passion. I loved this look but luckily there were more a Englands waiting in my untried pile that I wasn't too sad to take it off. It's definitely going to be having a lot of use in the future. If you haven't tried a England you really should, the formula on every polish I've tried so far is just perfect!

So I haven't totally lost my mind, though I'm feeling so tired it's a possibility. For some reason blogger didn't publish my full post yesterday so it read ridiculously. I'll go back and fix it now, grrr at blogger. Have a fab Thursday, for some crazy reason Thursday is my favourite weekday, I think it's mainly because tomorrow is Friday so the promise of the weekend starts looming today :). Take care, Tx

a England - Rose Bower

This polish is from the new Burnes - Jones collection, named Rose Bower this is one of the pretties berry red holos I've ever seen. It is truly stunning, the perfect cross of red and pink making a gorgeous berry red. The holo isn't as strong as others but still enough to make you go wow when the sunlight hits your nails. I used two coats and it was a breeze to apply. You really need this in your collection as it stunning and unique to any other red holos I've seen.

Hope your week is going well, Tx

Indee Polish Co. Giveaway prize and swatches

I was lucky enough to win a competition on Instagram from a new to me Australian Indie polish brand Indee Polish Co. I was allowed to choose 4 from their collection and received a limited release polish as well as some new nail art brushes. Now onto the swatches..

Firstly I swatched The Great Barrier Reef, this is one of my favourites from the collection. With a black base the polish is packed with aqua and green small glitters reminiscent of the gorgeous waters of the Great Barrier Reef. I used one coat of Cate Ruby Navy Star as a base and applied 2 coats of The Great Barrier Reef with HK Girl topcoat. The polish applied beautifully and the blue and green glitters look so pretty against the dark base.

Next is Drunk on Holo, such a fitting name. I really love this one too as the holographic glitter makes it sparkle and shine. I used Zoya Carly as a base and 3 layers of Drunk on Holo. It is a pretty plum wine colour and applied easily.

Thirdly I've swatched Death by Cyanide. This is one of those confusing polishes that I call green but most others say it's blue. It's close to a Tiffany blue and the Zoya Wednesday I wore underneath was a perfect match. I used three coats over the base and the polish applied smoothly. It has just the right amount of micro holographic glitter and I love it as a palette cleanser. Simple but stunning.

This beauty is Kiss the Frog, I just love the name :). It's a gorgeous fresh spring green with scatterings of tiny holographic glitter. I used 3 coats and again application was super easy. I love the sparkle the holo particles bring.

Lastly is my limited edition polish that is called Kakadu. In an olive base this polish has micro green and small red glitter thoughout. It does it's name justice. Application was difficult with this one and it dried a little gritty. No problems that top coat didn't fix :)

The Indee Polish Co. has handcrafted nail polish created by Sandi! All my polishes were born out of beauty, colour & glitter. A lot of glitter. Indee Polish Co. is located in Sydney, Australia
All polishes are created from scratch using top-of-the-range australian products and are 5 free.

EmilydeMolly Muted Madness

I'm going through my untrieds at the moment and came across this gem that I haven't worn yet. It really is understated brilliance and adds a nice pop on the nails. It applied gorgeously over one coat of plain black. It is a black jelly with matte glitters in purple, blue, yellow, green and red and tiny silver holo glitter. The jelly allows the glitters to build a nice depth and the colour of the glitters makes a black polish look fun and so pretty. I'm not sure ow why I've left it untried so long! In photos below I applied a matte top coat and I really like how it looks just for something different.

The weekend is flying past, hope you enjoy your Sunday, Tx

Shades of Phoenix - Riddikulus

I adore everything Harry Potter and love the brand Shades of Phoenix so when Teneil released that she was doing a magic collection I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. All of them are unbelievably gorgeous, but today I have Riddikulus to show you. Teneil describes it as a black and deep purple base polish with plum purple square glitters, purple flakes and micro holographic silver glitters. I don't think I could give a better description. Unfortunately it is camera shy and while it still looks gorgeous in these photos it is 100 times prettier in real life. The light catches the glitters and the purple shows through more strongly. I have used 2 coats here over Chanel Taboo, I didn't use my fabulous Chanel just as undies I had been wearing it a few days first :)

Thanks goodness for Saturdays and the lack of running around, I hope you enjoy yours Tx

Lilypad Lacquer - Rainbows in Space

I'm a sucker for a holo! I adore them and Lilypad Lacquers are the master at making super holos in a huge range of colours. This one is black and bestill my heart it is AMAZING!! All of Lilypad holos apply perfectly and I'm even wearing a top coat with this one and the holo power still shines through. Just to be different this time I did some stamping, firstly mainly black creme with holo design and then inverted. I love how both turned out :). I used 3 coats of Rainbows in Space - mainly because I like to use 3 thin layers.

Yay it's Friday! Have an amazing weekend, Tx
