Aussie Nails Monday - green

I had to come back and do the Aussie Nails Monday challenge as it's green!! I don't think I have the patience yet for nail art so I used the amazing Drink of Despair by Alanna Renee. Unfortunately my photos didn't pick up on just how gorgeous this colour is but the blurry one 2 down gives a much better idea of the colour in the sun. It truly is gorgeous and was a dream to apply. Drink of despair is from the Alanna Renee Magical World collection which is one my favourite collections of all time.

So have a look at them all here.

Paint it Blue for Autism - Navy Dragonfly

While I still had my gorgeous Cate Ruby on I wanted to add to it for Paint it Blue Tuesday. I had an idea in my head that I'm not sure totally worked. Looks cool to me but I can see the pic in my head lol. So I (at least) think I made a dragonfly out of diamentes and I like him/her. I then had to try some matte accents and I love how they look on this polish! Anyway onto the exciting news

The Custom blue nail polishes for Autism auction are live!. There are updates on bidding each evening EST Australia with what the top bid is for the polishes so if you would like to re-bid  you will be able to. This auction is open WORLD WIDE! So avoid missing out and visit Paint it Blue, custom blues for Autism.

Cate Ruby - Navy Star

(above taken indoors with artificial lighting)

Today I have a polish from the Australian brand Cate Ruby to share with you. It's my first time using this brand and wow, colour me impressed!

The formula is just gorgeous, so silky and smooth. The colour is simply stunning, it's a rich dark navy blue but when light hits, it shimmers navy to royal blue. The polish has great pigmentation and could easily be used as a one coater. I wanted the perfect finish and ended up using three thin coats. The brush is a good size but took a little wearing in, it wasn't until the third coat that it started to fan properly and from there on it was a dream to work with. Dry time was excellent. The bottles are stunning and would look fabulous left out on a shelf. They come with a removable rhinestone stretch ring that you can wear, or leave on the bottle. Such a neat idea!

Cate Ruby is an Australian owned and made polish that offers a wide range of colour choices. The formula is superb and just as good as, and most definitely better than some other high end brands. This is so exciting to see from an Australian company! Cate Ruby is priced at 15ml standard salon size RRP $17.95 or  9ml mini RRP $10.95. I am so pleased to see another brand offering minis. Please visit their website at Cate Ruby to view the other amazing colours, find suppliers and learn all about this fabulous Australian brand.

Cate Ruby is not tested on animals.

Aussie Nails Monday - Flowers Zoya Paloma

This look is based on a look by Oliveview Fashion, I just loved it and loved the 3d effect of the design. I don't think mine shows the depth as well, but for next time I know to do more flowers and overlap them more. It was a little painful to do, lots of time waiting for jelly to dry or dots to dry.

So I began with one coat of a jelly Zoya'a Paloma, I did two flowers with OPI Mod About You and waited for them to dry. Next stage I did the same thing but with only one flower, this is where I should have done more. I continued until I had the above design. I think it's 5 coats, so lots of waiting though the wait time on the jelly was less than I thought it would be.

In the end I still really like the look and know how to improve next time :)

Saturday Disney Princess Challenge - Pocahontas

I'm a day late, our beautiful doggy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure yesterday :(. He's on tablets so hopefully they will help prolong his life, we just don't know by how much. So these nails have flaws, they were done with a migraine hangover and only a couple of hours sleep. BUT yay I still got them done :).
Pocahontas -  index - colours of the wind, middle - Meeko-, ring - Pocahontas, pinkie Pocahontas arm band.
Hope your weekend is going great!

Holo Nail Art - EmilydeMolly Seeing Red and High Distinction

I couldn't wait to see how adding art to the holo would work and it worked great! I used EmilydeMolly's gold holo - High Distinction and it covered beautifully in one thin coat.

I love this look and adore these holos <3

EmilydeMolly Holo - Seeing Red

This is one of the most gorgeous holo polishes I've used! The colour is super pigmented and applied like a breeze. It is the most gorgeous shade of red and I know already I'll probably need a back up bottle. Like all holos when the sun hits it is just amazing but with this one it still looks great indoors because of the rich red colour.
EmilydeMolly has a new range of holos and I can't wait to show you some more :)

Have a fabulous day!

Femme Fatale - Edge of the Cosmos

Today I have an amazing polish by Australian Indie Femme Fatale called Edge of the Cosmos. It is incredibly beautiful but very camera shy and doesn't like to show you its true colours. Here is what Femme Fatale Cosmetics say about this polish

Edge of the Cosmos is a blackened purple base with fine holographic particles, and a variety of holo shapes and sizes. Resembles  being out in space. To make this a little more interesting we vary batches slightly, replacing one or two glitters with another of same size and shape but different colour. We wanted to embody the ever-changing beauty of the universe with our mini version in a bottle ;)

They have certainly done that and it really does look like a galaxy nail in a bottle. Here I have used just one coat over OPI Funkey Dunkey. I was amazed that I had to do very little fishing for larger pieces of the glitter and I'm glad as I didn't want to, I wanted to apply it organically and see what the polish chose to put where. This polish has incredible depth especially as it's one coat and I just love it.

This is deep deep purple and I wanted stars and glitter to remember the victims of the Boston marathon and especially the small boy. I'm sure he's playing with the stars and sliding on moonbeams now. Too innocent to face such evil, rest peacefully sweet prince.

It's Tuesday again and I'm one assignment down and one to go. Being Tuesday it's Paint It Blue day, so today I have for you the gorgeous butter London Scouse. I have posted this polish before so won't bore you with details again but I do really love this shade! To mix it up a bit I added silver peacock feathers that are a water decal.
