Let's go crazy

I knew I'd have to put this one on pretty quick I love love it! It's a Deborah Lippmann and while she's at the higher end of what I'm prepared to spend every single polish I have bought has been worth every cent. They are just sublime both in ease of use especially with the ease of the spread of glitter. Let's go crazy is in a deep purple jelly base that photographed more black here but it's purple and gorgeous.

The colourful glitter pops and is hex shapes and small particles. It wasn't the easiest to remove but it was worth it.

I'm entering a couple of Christmas challenges and I'm excited and can't wait to be doing my very favourite holiday manicures.

Stay safe and have a happy Friday!

Ombre Nails

I'be been dying to try one of these out, I've just had so much trouble deciding which colours to use. I'm looking forward to doing Christmas nails next week so yesterday I decided to just go for it and I love it! Purple is on of my favourite nail colours and the graduating colours look fab.

Of course once I'd done this one of my lemmings arrived in the post so I'm not too sure this look will last to long. Are you like that? As soon as I decide I need to try something I immediately change my nails whether they need doing or not :).

Colours chosen:

Thumb - Essie Lilacism
Pointer - Essie She's Picture Perfect
Middle - Opi - Do you Lilac it?
Ring - China Glaze Spontaneous
Pinkie - China Glaze - Grape Pop

Have a happy Tuesday!

Essie - perfect pair Braziliant and Super Bossa Nova

I really love mini nail polishes, there is something about them that is so cute so I was delighted to pick up this Perfect Pair from Essie. I have to say I agree with them and this combo looks great together.

Braziliant is a hot orange with gorgeous shimmer. I'm not a bright orange fan but was surprised by how nice it looked on my fingers. It applied so easily and was all but opaque in one coat. Super Bossa Nova is a stunning bright fuchsia. Again not usually a fuchsia fan but somehow in the combination of these two they looked really fabulous on. This one also applied like a dream and was nearly opaque in once coat.

With the gorgeous summer weather we finally had this weekend, my nails fitted in perfectly and it was nice to wear a bright look for a change :) Hope all my USA friend had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Wishing everyone a safe and happy week.

Zoya Aurora

I'm so in love with Zoya's collection! This is Aurora and it is stunning. It sparkles on your fingers and was so simple to use.
Zoya explain it as Aurora can be best described as a full coverage, medium sugarplum purple flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. The rainbow holographic sparkle turns this plum purple into something truly captivating.

It's very apt description as you seem to notice a new sparkle in every move of your hand.

I added striping tape to my ring finger and a coat of Zoya Suri.

OMG Zoya Ziv

I was excited about Zoya's Ornate Collection from the moment it started popping up on blogs. I've looked at lots of posts and thought it looked amazing. When I actually painted my first one Ziv on I was blown away. Photos truly can't do justice to this beautiful polish. It looks amazing on and is one of those polishes where I just keep staring at my hands as it's so gorgeous.

In the morning sun

Zoya describes Ziv as Zoya Nail Polish in Ziv can be best described as a full coverage, yellow-toned metallic gold foil with silver highlights and warm gold flake glitter accents. Try this for an extremely shiny, reflective, and eye-catching luxe gold nail. They are right it is so eye-catching! There are also hints of brown in the accents but these and the silver are only really noticeable when looked at close up. From further away they all add to the awesomeness that is Ziv.

Ziv was super easy to apply and was opaque in one coat, I did two though. For my accent finger I used China Glaze Passion and a thin coat of Deborah Lippmann Boom boom pow. I just love how it looks and think I'm going to need a back up bottle of this one :).

Have a happy Wednesday, we are on the downhill run to the weekend now.

Where reality hits

I'm not overly delighted with this mani. There comes a time though where reality hits and you have to roll with the punches. I suffer from a connective tissue disease and take medication that make my hands shake. I have good days and bad days and this mani was done on a bad day. I had to remove my glittered skittles as I was having a CT scan and google said remove it as much as it said it won't matter so I decided it had to come off. I probably should have left it at that but I really dislike bare nails now. So I attempted a new mani which  I did manage to finish but the dots aren't aligned and are all different sizes and thickness. Thankfully some lovely bloggers have made me see in the last couple of weeks that it's the fun and love of polish that counts. So I'm adding this here, because I still had fun and hey life is full of ups and downs. Also I think sometimes when people are critical of others they need to stop and think is there more to the story than what I see on my computer screen. As well as thinking did the blogger still have fun? Because that's all that really matters.

This photo above is pretty typical for when I'm having a bad hands day. They just won't stay still enough for photos, so I end up taking many many shots in the hope a couple will work.

Glittery Skittle nails

I love nail skittles and this summer collection by Essie just screamed out for me to do one. Oh have to confess and tell you I managed to slip Where's my chauffeur in here too :) Slightly addicted to that one, though it's finally not on my nails at this moment in time.

 Colours used
Thumb - Essie Mojito Madness
Index - Essie Fear or Desire
Middle - Essie Bikini so teeny
Ring - Essie Where's my chauffeur
Pinkie - Essie Off the shoulder

Then I had to add a little bling and painted a thin coat of Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow. Love it! Though it does change the colours slightly as it is in a yellow sheer base.

Unfortunately my son does not love the skittle manicures as they remind him of the Ice Truck Killer of the Tv show Dexter. (whoops)

Happy Monday and have a safe and happy week

Essie mint candy apple and where's my chauffeur

I just love both of these polishes. I was a little dubious with my stamped look, I liked it but fell out of love with it quickly. It doesn't help to be a perfectionist and only learning to stamp. That some nails weren't the same pattern exactly they drove me a little nuts. So I gently removed the stamp and added Mint Candy Apple and China Glaze I'm not Lion as a stripe. Still not perfect but I do love these two colours together.

Of course my washing machine decided to play up and leave soap scum on everything. This mani then only lasted a day and a bit as I have scrubbed the washing machine until it gleams. I know gloves gloves gloves but I'm just not a gloves fan. I've gotten rid of most of the scum but if anyone has ideas I'm happy to hear them. So far I've done the vinegar and bi-carb numerous times as well as hot water cycles. Fingers crosed I bet it today - I have washing I need to do!!

Happy Saturday and enjoy your weekend

Where's my chauffeur

Above colour is before clean up but wow it's gorgeous! I think it may be a new favourite. For how wrong Essie got the formula with Butler Please they've redeemed themselves with Where's my chauffeur, it applied like a dream in two coats.

It is a gorgeous blue-green, which is slightly bluer than Turquoise and Caicos. I then decided to stamp with Essie Penny Talk. I love the end result and know I'll be wearing this colour a lot over summer.

Happy Friday :)

and I guess that's why they call it the blues

Happy Wednesday!

Seems like I have a bit of a blue obsession at the moment :) I just purchased Essie Butler please! and had to try it out. Unfortunately it was really terrible to apply :( I've read other reviews that say the same thing, it just isn't a usual Essie in regards to application. The only thing that saved this mani was the seche vite topcoat as Butler Please! was streaky and showed every brush stroke. It also smells more like house paint than a nail polish.

I am happy with how it turned out in the end but not happy with my pointer finger, just couldn't work out what I wanted to do..

Deep royal blue is Essie Butler Please!
Light blue is Essie - Bikini so teeny, that applied like a dream in 2 coats
Off white - Opi my boyfriend scales walls. The Best off white polish ever!
Pointer finger Orly shockwave with Essie Pure pearlfection over top

More photos below - Have a great day!
